What is the Children’s Activity Fund?
The Children’s Activity Fund (CAF) is an Area Partnership funded programme giving children aged 0-12yrs the chance to take part, experience a range of activities, be active, connect with others and enjoy the best that East Lothian has to offer.
CAF received £12000 to develop holiday and term time activities that will provide fund opportunities, especially to those most adversely affected by low income and the Cost-of-Living Crisis.

Who is eligible for funded places?
We are pleased to be able to offer full and partial funded places at many activities for children aged 0-12 years to priority families in the area.
The eligibility criteria for funded places (subject to availability and funds available) are:
Funded places are available by referral only. If your child meets the above criteria, and you have not already received a referral, please contact Katie on the details below for further information.
Organisers will do their very best to accommodate the need of every child. However, please ensure you contact you contact them prior to booking a session to discuss your child’s specific requirements.

Classes run in 4 week blocks and can be booked online. Currently prices are £45 for 4 weeks of baby massage and £40 for sensory classes. I also run free parent and child walks.
I also run Stay and Play at the community centre. This is on Wednesday mornings, term time. The cost is a £1 voluntary donation per family which goes towards the cost of the snack, crafts etc. It is voluntary donation and if a parent cannot pay then they are always welcome to attend and no questions are ever asked. No booking required.

We run a not for profit club and try to keep our costs to a minimum. It is £5 per class but any other family member training on the same evening only pay a further £2.50.

We are part of JKA Scotland, and non-profit making association. 3 gradings are held a year along with courses, students pay JKA Scotland for attendance on those courses. If a student is successful in a grading, JKA Bass Rock cover the cost of new belt

Children aged p3 - p7 travel to North Berwick by bus to receive coaching
We offer Sunday School activities during the morning service at Gullane.

Gullane Athletic Amateur Football Club run teams for children from 4 years old and upwards. Squads play regularly in the East Lothian, Edinburgh Leagues and South East Region Youth FA League.

Reducing Finance as a Barrier to Sport & Physical Activity
The East Lothian Active Schools Sport & Activity Access initiatives are supported by a number of organisations:
The Walk with Scott Foundation, Connected Communities, enjoyleisure , Community Sports Clubs, Young Carers and East Lothian Council, delivered by East Lothian Active Schools.
The aim of the initiatives are to reduce inequalities and help minimise barriers to participation in sport and physical activity for children and young people across East Lothian.
The initiatives offer financial support to assist children and young people whose circumstances may otherwise prevent them from accessing opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity or training opportunities.

All children are invited to take part in free Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths sessions during the
summer holidays. All sessions are 10am-12pm and a snack will be provided.

Moon sand – would you like to know what the surface of the moon feels like? Let’s make some moon sand
and find out.
Space Game – We will make our own space game and use our Maths skills to devise a scoring system.
Session 2:
Galactic Gluck – Is it a liquid or is it a solid? Come and explore this amazing phenomenon.
Spaceships - Lets make spaceships from Lego. Decide if you are a hero or an evil overlord.
Session 3:
Space slime – Join us to make space slime to save our planet by trapping Aliens.
Space Rocks - What planet will you be saving. We will paint our own Space Rocks.

Our Dance Tots class is suitable for children with a participating adult from age 18mths-3yrs. It is also a Great class for those at Nursery age that require parental support. Early childhood develops gross motor skills which we will exercise in our class through fun walking, running, skipping and jumping routines. We use imagery with stories, games and props in this adorable class.

This is a fun, friendly group where mums, dads, grandparents and carers can come along with their wee ones (age 0-4) and get the chance to have a coffee and a chat while the kids have a play and a healthy snack. It's a great chance to meet new people in a relaxed environment and catch up with friends. Every week we finish up with a singing-time which is a firm favourite with the children.
Little Nippers is on every Thursday 10-11.30am in Abbey Church large hall. We'd love to see you so please come along!

Messy Church is held at St. Andrew Blackadder once a month on a Sunday afternoon from 4-6pm. It’s a form of church for children and adults and an opportunity to have fun together through creativity, activity, and celebration.
It’s relaxed, family fun and above all – MESSY!!
Messy Church is all-age event, families are encouraged to come together, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Those without children are very welcome too!
What happens at Messy Church?
Messy Church is two hours long. The first hour is spent doing crafts and activities together, based on a Christian theme. This is followed by a Celebration Time in the Church and then we share a meal together in the hall.
There is no cost, but donations are accepted. Free-from meal options are always available.

During this Summer, we are running daily morning workshops 9.30-11.30am for £25
We aim to have a lot of fun making slime, tie-dyeing t-shirts and creating with clay, alongside the usual painting and drawing. As our new art room is so close to Tesco and Aldi, in June we are offering a "pop-in and paint" system, where parents can drop off their little artists for half an hour while they pop to the shops in peace. £5 for 30 mins painting. No need to book.
